Do You Feel My Pain?

Reprinted
From
R Jacob Post
June 8th, 2010

injury started it
but long time
coming

body run down
over time
waiting
for a chance

the knee
one part of many
crying out
no where to hide
in the world

ache pain
sleep unable
toss
turn
fatigue causes sleep
not for long

body positioned
in bed
like chalk
outline
seeking relief

drug help
one that works
two months
like a lifetime

how does one
handle it all
chronic
life sapping
overwhelming

understand
now
gets to the point
end it all

why they do it
why they call
Dr. Kervorkian
line one

Oh God! I hope you haven't reached that desperate a stage!
What sort of pain is it? I use Celedrin cream and glucosamine/chondroitin gels--have a sciatic nerve that gets to me, but really severe chronic pain, that's the worst.

There are many resources on the internet, of course that will offer lots of suggestions to alleviate symptoms. I didn't know that putting pillows between ones legs could help, but it does. (Then again, I've no idea what sort of pain you're in and as my husband keeps reminding me, I'm no doctor!)

Thinking about you,

Kat

Currently, the pain meds have curtailed the pain and I am having therapy 3 x a week for the next month. There is a tear and have been told surgery would not help. Pillows did not help and sleep took hours. I do fear it coming back.

thanks for your thoughts.
